How to install windows from a flash drive

Some computers like Notebooks, Netbooks, Ultrabooks don't have optical disk drives. So we need an alternative way to install operating systems to these computers. In this post I'm going to teach you how to install windows from a usb drive. First of all you need to download a small software. It's called Win2Flash. Download it from here (32 MB) and extract the zip file.

What you need:

1. Win2Flash
2. Windows CD/DVD
3. USB Pen drive (At least 4GB)
4. WinRAR (Only for Method 1)

How to do it:

Method 1: Using Windows ISO image

If you have an ISO image of the Windows CD/DVD, then you can continue this method.

1. Go to ISO image and extract it using WinRAR.
2. Plug in USB drive.
3. Open "WintoFlash.exe"
4. If it shows a message box click "OK" .
5. Click the button "Windows Setup transfer Wizard" .
6. Click "Next".
7. Set "windows files path"(folder that contains extracted files from the ISO image).
8. Select "USB Drive".
9. Click "Next".
10. Accept Lenience agreement
11. Click "OK".
Then it will prepare the USB drive to install Windows.

Method 2: Using Windows CD/DVD

If you have another computer with an Optical disk drive, then you can continue this method.

1. Enter Windows CD/DVD to the computer.
2. Plug in USB drive.
3. Open "WintoFlash.exe"
4. If it shows a message box click "OK" .
5. Click the button "Windows Setup transfer Wizard" .
6. Click "Next".
7. Set "windows files path"(Optical disk drive).
8. Select "USB Drive".
9. Click "Next".
10. Accept Lenience agreement
11. Click "OK".
Then it will prepare the USB drive to install Windows.

Now you have a USB drive with Windows installation files in it. Keep in mind to set "Boot from USB device" in the BIOS menu while booting with this Drive.
